Children begin their horsemanship journey with Liberty Pony Club from the ground, learning to recognise and respond to body language, using verbal communication, and energy to create a connection and grounded partnership with the horses - before they climb onto their new friend’s back.

The children learn to empathise with the horses and understand their needs in addition to all the practical skills involved in taking care of them; tacking up, grooming, ranch work, feed and horsemanship related games.

Once a confident mutual partnership is built on the ground, the relationship will evolve enough for the child to learn to mount. The beginner riding begins with getting comfortable and balanced in the small arena at the ranch and continues with adventures on the trails in the Topanga State Park located adjacent to the ranch.

We are non-competitive and share an all-round horsemanship grounding experience along with simply the love of horses and riding amongst nature.
